The Ultimate Fighting Championship's debut event in Azerbaijan is now official with 12 fights after the UFC Baku weigh-ins.
Headlining the card is a heavily anticipated light heavyweight fight between former champion Jamahl Hill and former title challenger Khalil Rountree. Both men are known for their dangerous striking and successfully made weight for the main event. All other fighters on the card also hit their marks, so all 12 fights will move forward as planned. The only minor alteration to the schedule is that the lightweight match between Tofiq Musayev (163) and Myktybek Orolbai (165) has been shifted to a 165-pound catchweight contest.
Hill (12-3, 1 NC) is looking to get back into the win column after getting knocked out by Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka. "Sweet Dreams" is now 34 and wants to show that his best days aren't behind him. The Michigan native won the interim title by defeating Glover Teixeira and also holds key wins over Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker. Hill took full advantage of the one-pound allowance and weighed in at 206 pounds.
Rountree (13-6, 1 NC) has lived up to his nickname of "The War Horse" inside the Octagon. Knockouts over Anthony Smith and Chris Daukaus earned him a title shot, although the striking of Pereira proved to be too much in their title match. The 35-year-old now has a chance to rebound by earning the biggest win of his career. Rountree also tipped the scale at 206 pounds.
UFC Baku's main card will air live on ABC and ESPN+ starting at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT on Saturday. The prelims begin at noon ET/9 a.m. PT on ESPN+ and ESPN2.
